About PKBio

PKBio is a research laboratory of the State University of Maringá (UEM), Brazil, dedicated to understanding how drugs are absorbed, distributed and eliminated — and to predicting it with models.

The Laboratory of Pharmacokinetics and Biopharmaceutics (PKBio) brings together faculty, graduate and undergraduate students who combine bench experiments and computational modeling. Our work ranges from measuring solubility and plasma protein binding, to developing bioanalytical methods by liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, to building PBPK, PopPK and PBBM models.

This integration lets the same group generate high-quality experimental data and use them to answer questions about doses, formulations and populations — in human and veterinary medicine.

Mission

To produce reliable knowledge on pharmacokinetics and biopharmaceutics, train researchers with a solid quantitative background and share this knowledge with the scientific community and society.
