Preclinical pharmacokinetics

Absorption kinetic profiles in animal models, with sampling designed to feed models and dosing decisions.

Animal studies show how absorption and elimination happen in a living organism. In this line, PKBio designs and analyzes preclinical pharmacokinetic studies, with attention to the minimum number of animals and to sampling quality.

What we do

  • Study design with sampling schedules that describe the absorption and elimination phases well.
  • Quantification of samples with the bioanalytical methods validated in the laboratory.
  • Analysis of plasma concentration–time profiles with non-compartmental, compartmental and physiologically based approaches.

Why it matters

Good-quality in vivo data validate in silico models and allow results to be extrapolated more safely to other species and to the clinic.
